    I've also found that the dataset actually updates inside the program so that seems to be working alright however just the writing of any xml file after a openFileDialog is used doesnt seem to write.

    Labor + 140 if complted without any RFE would take least 8 - 12 months. But considering today's conditions that is highly unlikely so ballpark figure would be 15 - 18 months. Also if it gets rejected for any reason lawyer mistakes or A2P or education etc then it would be waste of time and resources.

    i had been to SBA and the free seminars for entrepreneurs conducted by them. They hold one-one meetings and try to know what you exactly want to do and tell you how to proceed. It is an goverment organization with volunteers who are reteired high ranking officers from different field. They gave me brochures and booklets and told me to write a business plan. Anyway, you can google SBA and find the nearest local office and ask them for a appointment.

    Just like *ranga*, *billa* also has a story.

    billa went to Texas A and M for his Mechanical Engineering and then moved into a lucrative job at a world famous oil company in Houston. His company has offered him a permanant job and offered to do his Green Card. But they don't know he will be leaving his job to go to Dubai because of Green Card logjam and uncertaainity that prevails.

    I don't know how to explain this in any sensible way without sounding like a nitpicking pedand (but I can't just "not say it"), but my point about the "DOF is always the same for the same framing", was particularly to point out that wide-angle lenses are good for close-to-subject-and-crop, but it does NOT magically give you different focusing or DOF behaviour - it's still the same for the same framing of the subject.

    Depending on the layout of the house, using a longer focal range can actually help - there is less rotation of the camera, and that means less change in distance to the subject, meaning that it's easier to get the focus - but that assumes large open areas in the house, which doesn't work well in some situations (my house has no place where you can see much more than about 15 feet in a straight line). It has an added advantage of "you stand further away, so you don't disturb the children quite so much".

    I was in the same boat as you. I did not get my wife's AOS receipt but all others ( 5 out of 6) . But when the FP notices came with her AOS receipt number on it, I thought USCIS may have misplaced the receipt.
    Right after the fingerprint, we received this LUD on her AOS case:

    Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Notice returned as undeliverable.

    On October XX, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.

    I was shocked. I have emailed the company law firm and I'm awaiting response from them.... Have they mistyped their own address since that is supposed to go to them? Or USCIS is just pulling my legs?

    I am planning to apply my niece to come to USA to study 8th grader in private school. She is 13 years old in May 2011. I believe she doesn't need to go for an interview at US embassy in Bangkok Thailand. What do I suppose to do then? How do I submit her DS-160 (already finish filling online) and other document? What else do I need to know in order for her to come to the US.

    DOS & USCIS will have all data entered into their systems once they receipt all these 320k cases. Using past USCIS processing speed as another input, DOS should be able to issue accurate EB cut-off dates in all categories.

    One can only really hope that they do this more accurately atleast by next bulletin & move forward cut-off dates.

    In absence of any legislative changes so far, the EB community should really push for processing efficiencies more. (So far looks like atleast no visa numbers were wasted in FY 2007)

    yeah the two shows 'Daily Show with Jon Stewart' and 'Colbert Report' run back to back. I have not seen any media personality that influential in shaping public opinion. They are mostly honest and ruthlessly blunt about issues.

    IV members, please post your comments on his message board. If there are a substantial number of posts, only then we can hope for him to ever talk about our issue on his show.

    I have been there a couple of times - once to the old office and more recently to the new office. Just make sure you pack a lot of patience because they made me wait for about 3 hours for my number to be called. When enquiring about name checks, they werent helpful. They quoted policy of not sharing info about cases pending in security checks. Congressional liaisons are generally more helpful. I hope my experience was timely enough to be helpful. Good luck!

    Thanks for keeping me on ground ... only time I had been their was for fingerprinting 2 yrs ago. So not expecting much ... but got to line out questioners:

    1. Whatz up lazy dude? ... this will put him/ her at ease, next
    2. Check upon case status for my I485? ... this will make him bang the keys. REsult nothing.
    3. Alright, is the namecheck done? ... He will shrug shoulders
    4. Were the fingerprints alright? ... replies uh. I reply, than why the $u@^ did u let them expire
    5. Has my application pre-adjudicated? ... nope.

    Bingo ... worth my trip. And I leave.

    You guys think I missed something?

    Last week out of a project..my desi consultancy sent me a termination notice(on H1 with this guy). 485 filed in July 2007. got EAD. I am looking for a project right now. Planning to join on EAD and look for a job.

    What are my options? I am in status?

    u r in status of pending-AOS. So if you forget about H1 for new job and take it up on EAD, you are all set.
    If you try to do H1 transfer and the gap from now to tha ttransfer is a lot, then they might not extend the H1 status and you'll need to leave and re-enter the US.

    While there is no requirement that experience letters use language identical to language used in the PERM application, substantive inconsistencies can be a problem. If the PERM appication requires experience in XYZ technology, then the experience letter must mention XYZ technology. If, on the other hand, the PERM application simply requires experience as a systems analyst, then it doesn't matter whether XYZ technology is mentioned in the experience letter.

    So, to determine whether your experience letters are adequate, you should first review Section H
    of the PERM application and make a list of the employer's stated requirements. Next, compare that list to the content of your experience letters. If the letters do not clearly and explicitly cover everything on the list, note exactly what skill, knowledge or experience is missing.

    Then, assuming your prior employers are not willing to amend the letters already provided, identify others (colleagues, co-workers, clients) with actual knowledge of your work and request notarized statements from them to supplement the letters you already have. In addition, if you completed academic or technical course work related to the missing skill or technology, obtain letters from the professors or instructors and/or course descriptions + your transcripts/certificates.

    This basic analysis becomes more complicated if, in addition to documenting prior experience, you are seeking EB2 classification based on "five years of progressively responsible experience". In that situation, not only must the letters document that you possess specific skills, knowledge and experience, they must also document the progressive trajectory of your career.

    A FINAL NOTE: If at all possible, experience letters and related documents should be obtained and provided to the employer/lawyer PRIOR TO preparing and filing the PERM application.

    Guys:

    My case is different. I have 140 approved during jan2006. PD- 11/2005 EB2,

    Again. Amendment 140 filed (((on 07/02/07 (RD) and 08/30/07 (ND) at TSC)) by the new company, which tookover our earlier company (New co.Much bigger in size).

    Now, I have original 140 approved, and Amendment still pending. PD is current, just waiting to see how it would imapact. :confused:

    Any advise from Seniors/ Gurus.. :)

    Start with contacting another attorney. Let another attorney review your case and give his/her opinion.

    Just don't rely on one attorney.

    that is not a backlog in the sense of retrogression based backlog. That is like any other processing time for any other type of application
    Chicago is taking 2-3 weeks then y Atl is taking 6 months
