Pls don't get me wrong but when your prior understanding was that You will join his company in near future, based on which he agreed to file your I-140 even if you have paid, why do you don't want to go by your word?
I know employers suck people like us here for GC, etc. but we as employees should also go by our word. If you stay on your decision to join his company now since I-140 is approved, you won't end up having complications at all.
Besides, it is give-and-take and at the most, you will have to work for a year or so with him.

I applied for the I-485 with a notice date of July 3, 2007 (application mailed in June) and paid $180 for the EAD that has a notice date of 07 November 2007 (was not filed concurrently). Do I have to pay the $340 fees to renew it? I went through the instructions and they are confusing as they say I don't need to pay the fees if I file I-485 before July 30, 2007. At another place they say no fees if filed under the fee structure IMPLEMENTED on July 30, 2007. I went through the electronic filing and they don't even ask for the date of I-485 filing, just charge you the $340. Any advice?

Yes you can Port your PD if your EB3 I-140 is Approved.
Once the I-140 gets Approved the PD is locked.
You can file a Labor under EB2 Using your MBA degree, once this Labor gets
Approved attach your OLD EB3 I-140 Copy and Port to your NEW EB2 Case.

goel I know that, I have already done that twice in previous stampings at Canada. Each time I went a day before to the Scotia branch prior to my appointment. What concerns me is this statement.

My appointment is for Sept 8. To pay MRV fee prior to Sept 1, I need to be physically in Canada at a Scotia bank branch before Sept 1. Today it is Aug 20, and I still havent gotten my passport back in mail yet with Canadian visa stamped on it. My scheduled arrival in Canada is Sept 7 so I can take care of Scotia bank receipt prior to appointment. But their statement says, the fee needs to be paid prior to Sept 1.

Yes, your reply is exactly same as her. But she added one more point. According to her The CBP officer can't deport a AP bearer. He/she has to parole the person and then can schedule a secondary check for I 140 validity. In such case my attorney can pitch in.
But I am not sure if this is true or she is being over assuring.

I think its up to you to figure out the best case and the worst case scenario for yourself. Obviously neither me, nor your lawyer is going to be with you, when you go thru the CBP officer. My strong opinion would be to use all these information as a filler in your case and hope for the best. Good Luck!!!

You must have gotten a Deportation form, where one of the category ( 5 year ban) must have been checked, that means you cant enter for 5 years.
Did you file that income as a tax return??

The OP poster was not scorning against the average american, I think you are mixing two issues up, I am sure he has done his share of charity work, and he probably sympathizes with families who don't have a job, I don't think you can direct your anger against him.
This is a capitalistic society not a communist or a socialist society, the market will/should balance itself out, new industries come up, people get hired, if the attitude of the people is protectionist, which it is, it stifles innovation and growth, which in turns stifles the growth of new companies, which in turn would have helped the folks laid off get a job. Being emotional is OK, but one must be pragmatic. That said, i believe charity begins at home, one must take care of its own kith and kin before extending arms to others.

No I am not Indian, but that still makes me a H1B and greencard aplicant. So please, Antis might dislike us but that does not make them racist and hatefull against only Indians, you are not the only ones in the boat...dont make Indians the only important people here.
Plus a lot of the antis are probably people who lost a job and are finding someone to point the finger at, not right, but understandable.
I have Amercian friends who went from a good middleclass family to now being on foodstamps and not knowing how to feed their kids the next day, they dont hate me but they are upset and frustrated and scared...

Hey everyone,
I am from Florida and just filed my I-485. I went to the DMV yesterday to renew my drivers license and something unexpected happened. They took away my old license and gave a temporary one valid for 30 days. They also said they will have to verify my immigration status and once this is done they will mail my new drivers license. Has anyone had such an experience? How long did it take to get your new license?

Hi Kanaka,
Unfortunately, any medical exams/tests conducted in India and any documents resulting from such are not valid.
Your best bet is to bring your family back and respond to the RFE with documentation based in the US.

My wife's I-485 got a REF and I have received the alert. I have not received the actual document. When we went for medical exam in 2006, she was pregnant and one of the vaccine was not given. I am expecting the REF would ask for the remaining tests.
Right now my family is in Hyderabad, India. Is there any provision in Hyderabad to complete medical exam ? or I need to bring them back to US ?

I wish both of them good luck to get visa stamp. it will be tough taking into consideration there is indian invasion in US. there are a lot of indians here in US on legal status,but a considerable precentage of indians coming here on visitor visa and stay illegally after I94 expired and trying to convert "visitor" visa to something else.

If matter gets really worse then and only then should I lodge a complaint against his firm? Am I right? If I have to complain, what is the procedure. I am just nervous. Please guide me.
And by the way how much do you think out of $1800,can I ask him to refund? And to just bring to your notice, he is saying this after 1 year. I can even ask him to pay me the interest for 1 year that he's enjoyed on my hard earned money. Right?

EB-2, 485 and 140 submitted in June 2007 concurrently, RD and PD both are June 2007. I borrowed my husband's Swiss nationality. Now 140 approved, AP and EAD got, but NC is still pending.
Just curious: When will USCIS process my 485? According to my nationality or my husband's? If it's mine, god, I may have to wait for 4, 5 years because of the terrible VB backlog! Is it after 485, everyone no matter which nationality, the processing time should be the same. All the world line up together. Please correct me if I am wrong.
since you are using your husband's nationality (x-chargability), you should have your GC in 6-12 months provided your name check has cleared.
