Hi,
We are in a peculiar situation regarding our FP. Did you take your FP taken? If so, did you get your file updated sometime after FP was completed? When you gave FP the last time, do you whether they had processed it before the approval?
We had to postpone our 2nd FP in May and gave our prints only in the end of June. I heard that such cases get into delays or problems. The first time over, our FPs were cleared in a week.

You can leave it as blank, you will getting the A# with the 485 receipt ...

Also by any chance is "alien receipt number" same as the A# that appears
in my old OPT-EAD? If yes then perhaps I can use that? I know that
"A#" is called "alien registration number".

Thanks for your contribution. The only place money will be spent will be on lobbying and advocacy for changing laws to reduce/eliminate retrogression and to make H1B renewals and transfers less difficult for those who are already here.

My observation... based on i140 application
My case was sent to NSC and it remained in NSC, however applications of 5 colleagues of mine got transfered to TSC... and another 3 remained at NSC
There seems to be a pattern on how they transfer cases from NSC to TSC based on last name (this is totally based on a very small specimen)... posting it here to know if it holds any water
Last name starting with A, C, E, G, I, K..... transfered to TSC
Last name starting with B, D, F, H, J, L..... stayed at NSC

Nope! My surname starts with H and my case was transferred to TSC. I guess if u chose a small enough sample size, you can prove anything. Isn't statistics wonderful ? :D You gotta love it!

She doesn't have to go for H4 Visa stamping, as she already has a valid H4 Visa stamping valid until Aug 2009. (I think). I'm more worried about Port of Entry, if she will have any problems..
You are wrong. Since she is currently on an H1B, her previous H4 stamp is invalid. She will need to get it restamped. When she returns, at the port of entry, unless she gets her H4 restamped, her status will be H1B and she will not be let in on her old H4 stamp.

I was on I-485 status on my EB3 application working on EAD. My I140 for Eb2 application got approved today while also requesting porting of priority date.
I believe USCIS would have automatically switched the 485 application to use the new EB2 I-140 instead of old EB3-I140
Now my question I am ready to renew my EAD. I wanted if there will be any problem with my EAD application since it is now transfered to an Eb2 position.
My pririty date is still not current....

I think you should not have any issues filing for EAD, all you need are your pending I-485's receipt notice. good luck!

Ever since Department of State (DOS) has issued visa bulletins having significant progression of something, what is known as a priority date in certain categories, COLTS has made a comeback to the immigrant community.
For the uninitiated, COLTS stands for Compulsive Obsessive LUD Tracking Syndrome. Surprisingly, it is somehow associated with DOS's monthly visa bulletin and often lags the bulletin by 15-20days after the issuance of the same. It's highly contagious. The only antidote to COLTS known to the humankind is CPO, Welcome or other such emails from USCIS. It doesn't go into full remission until a physical GC is to the sufferer's hands. COLTS as a epidemic generally subsides when DOS severely retrogresses what is known as a priority date but raises its ugly head when the same progresses again.
The symptoms of COLTS is several. The sufferer is often seen logging to the USCIS.GOV site with increasing frequency and making status searches every few minutes. It raises the level of angst when the antidote (as explained earlier) is not received. There we go again. Now we need to create another ombudsman to make sure current ombudsman office works straight...:p
Call the BLACKHOLE aka cis office, get info about your case, and note the person's badge you spoke, time and day of your call, put it in a letter along with file 7001 and send to ombudsman's office (also mention in the letter that you filed 7001 couple of times earlier). You need to get hold of someone in ombudsman's office and be in constant touch through email or something...You should have been on the conference call past week...Next time you can participate and ask directly...

You can use the unexpired H-1 visa UNLESS your prior employer has withdrawn the underlying petition in which case the visa is void.

Do you have any source on this....I also had to amend my H1B last month. Its done without any issues..
My lawyer informed this. They instructed me not to travel while extension is pending. In case you have to travel, they suggest to do the extension after return back. I don't have any source for this information.
But it makes sense isn't it. Your extension is the extension of your last I94, however if you travelled after application, your extension have different i94 number and your recent i94 has different number. Just my opinion.

My father used to drive when he visited. My insurance company put him on as a named driver for the duration of his stay. He was able to drive on his own driving license (that is fine for up to one year).
If he screwed up (fortunately he never did) the fines would have been just the same as mine and since I had taken separate insurance for him that was covered too.
You have to remember that visitors to the US are everywhere and are driving rental cars so this is not so unusual. If you wish to not have your father on your insurance then get him a rental car with every insurance known and then, apart from him getting hurt in an accident, you are covered.

2- I already have my h1b extension
3- What I am saying that if I don't get the stamp in time, I am planning to enter with AP

Needs no signature and is mailed by regular first-class mail, in a simple small size white envelope without any USCIS markings.
Most certainly you can have it mailed outside or have someone carry it for you outside the US. It is not a passport and US law does not prohibit mailing the GC internationally.

In some states (like NJ), you need a letter from Social Security Administration stating that you are not eligible for SSN.

You don't go for easy subjects, do you? Glass is tough, and you did well. But if you keep this up, it will cost you $3,000 to replace your wife's wardrobe!
Just a few thoughts coming from very limited experience. Aqua reflectors might disguise or mute the specular highlights, which is always the toughest part on glass. If you want the rims lit less (personal preference - I think these look fine), you could bounce off one of the cards rather than the ceiling. Another interesting way to shoot glass is to put it on a glass surface, and have the light source coming from below with a black background. But then you couldn't have staggered height arrangement like you have here.

Thanks guys for all the wisdom....I believe I knew the answer, but needed a 2nd opinion...
I had to renew my H1 visa, so was wondering what would happen if my GC was to get approved and my dependents remain pending, before the h1 is applied. My GC is still pending, hope to see some Green soon....maybe this year. All the best for all of you.
