This conference is for lawyers and employers and organized by lawyers. The organizers are charging fees for it too.
So what will IV gain by meeting lawyers and paying money to just get in?
Or by showing our face to USCIS official, Do you think by showing your face you will get your greencard and can promote IV? If that is true why don't you go and sit in front of USCIS and show your face to everyone entering that building?
And if you want to go then go. Why do you want IV to pay your $350?
First use your common sense and think positively instead of commenting posts

I am on H1 (8th year - not using EAD which I have) right now and a citizen friend of mine wants me to be involved with his website company. Business would involve subscription based access to website. He has hinted that one thing he is willing to consider is awarding me some percentage share in the company in return for my services as his website is not yet profitable.
If I would like to take that, what is the way to go?
1. Specifically, can someone tell me what I should do - LLC, something else...?
2. How would I pay myself from this without breaking H1-B laws?
3. If tomorrow I wanna close this company as I dont want to keep it for any reason, is there anything I need to be concerned with? Or it's as easy to close as a simple status update, call, etc?

As long as a person is meek and weak, that's what we get - Nothing. With AOS pending, every person in most states are bound to get 1 year renewal..Period. Be forceful but polite in expressing it. Take it to the next level - Supervisor.Ask what they mean or definition of "old I-485". Tell them you are Paying all Taxes (Federal, state, Social, Medicare.... ).
By the time you come hear, mostly probably, the agent might have approved a 1 year Renewal.
Seems FAIR is slowly creeping into DMV also.
Do u think, we did't do that.. We did everything possibly we could but of no help and been to three diffrent DMV's.. same old crap.. This seems to be a bigger problem than getting GC.. now we will be restrictited of driving too??

Some EB3 for India/China/Row would be in IT, but I bet a vast majority of EB3 from other countries, especially Mehico, is not IT related.
As most EB3 numbers go to IT software and as there are so many issues, until DOS and USCIS fix these issues they wont move these forward

Our checks were cashed on 09/04 and our lawyer has still not received our recipts.However we received FP yesterday by mail and our appointment date is 09/25.
We are waiting for our receipts and EAD.
So expect your FP notices anytime.

What is at stake is you career. We have every thing to loose by doing nothing. I know, I have lost a whole lot. Probably I were better off moving to India after my MBA. I might have been doing much better there. But I am at the point where I cannot let got without trying. Have you reached that point yet?
Here is my personal story, if you think you can do better here without the Green Card. Think again! I have been slogging in this mess since 1999, even though I have world class qualifications (Full time MBA from a top US school, several years of work experience, PMP and marching toward CFA). All this are futile , if I don't have that stupid work permit with out any strings attached (Green Card)

I don't want any freaking loosers. Loosing is their nature. I want winners to work with me. Are you the one?

i missed the second part of your question.
i personally know a friend whose 1-140 was denied and their 485 is obviously pending....he is working on EAD, they have appealed for the 140. While the case is pending the EAD has been extended by 2 years.

That is possible. It is like working with any other company. This not exactly self-employment, we (myself +my wife) have created own corporation with my wife has president and me as employee (Both of us have EAD). So then start working for that company. No need to inform USCIS, it is like working with any other company. Again i am still working in same or simlar job description per Labor/I140. It is verymuch legal and we are paying taxes too!!! .

I think still there are some people waiting for their finger printing? Thousands for I-140 approval and ofcourse there are people from even 2001 waiting for I-485 approval. Most would have got their receipts, I think.

I think it will be follish for any political party to not pay attention to Latino power. Mr. Obama won election with their support. For some reason, Latino group has not come forward so far to say that no CIR would mean no support to the party. I think if Latinos and all other interest groups come together, we may have a chance. I am surprised to hear that you were not allowed to board from India. As I mentioned, I have no idea what the procedures are right now. You might run into an official or Airline agent who is not aware of the rules. In my case, I traveled from the US couple of times with AP/Canada PR. First time it was AA/BA and the next time it was AA/Emirates. The checking you will go through will include both immigration and airline staff. If you are transiting thru London Heathrow, you will have to get past a passport check and security screening again to get to your boarding gate. This is where the Airport staff will check your papers. The gate agent will check your papers at the boarding gate and might even issue a different boarding pass. In case you have any doubts, I suggest you take another route or get a visa. The higher cost you might pay by flying Lufthansa for example, will offset the cost of a visa. You don't want to get stranded in any case. Good Luck.

The true value of an MBA lies in the contacts you make when you go to school. An online MBA IMHO is of no real use in terms of your career.
