I had my FP on 11/03 in NJ location but I moved to New York. So I went to a NY ASC today 4 days prior to my original notice. When myself and my wife went there, we got earful from FP lady there for coming in different location and that too in advance. She told us that we should not just walk-in like that in any day. But she still managed to talk our FP. It was a big relief!
She also told me that Wed is the amnesty day. If someone has missed out then, they can give it on any Wednesday.

This is really what Obama's advisors should read. Employers cannot find qualified employees to even fill these great job openings (with unemployment rate nearing 10%). America is loosing already and will keep on loosing if immigrant workers do not take up these jobs to keep US competitive.

I have mentioned details about Murali Bashyam in some other post. I was introduced to him in a IAFPE seminar on immigration and stayed in touch with him for last three years (and he is finally on my file too). We were successful in getting good media coverage with flower campaign. Our San Jose rally is getting good regional coverage. Yes, we haven't had the expected success with national media yet but we are gaining traction at an amazing pace.
This is not a big corporation with some PR dept. that is working with hundred of employees writing press releases et al. Volunteers like you and me have to take on that action item if you want to see results otherwise please continue on with your discussion
I know we have to do a lot of work to get coverage but I was just saddened at the behavior of the bigwigs. They know the news and yet chose not to report it.

Please do not spread a bad word about Indian companies. Infact 90% of us are working for Indian companies and we very much know we can not go with others due to the fact that experience or openness or waterver the reasons I don't like to mention here. I hope you can understand my request. Thanks.

definitely your entry should be deneid, you are not uncapale to solve your domestic problem, how come you are going to do good to this country by getting GC. (I agree these people are not good as you, but before they start domestic voilence there are on citizen/GC (either one of them),

For taxation purposes, you are considered just like US citizen as soon as you spend more than 180 days within US.
You can claim all the standard tax deductions/exemptions that are available to any US citizen like EIC (irrespective of your status - on visa, in AOS, PR or citizen) if you file taxes as a resident.

That year he was laid off and had very little income So he took the money.

tax returns. I do not think they expect you to list all the addresses that you stayed during the year.
You will need to provide the address to the tax return where your state taxes were deducted for the most part of the year IMHO. But for your GC app, I am unsure.
Have you consulted your lawyer? Send a PM to pappu maybe. He may get some answers from the IV lawyers.

Write him a letter explaining that you need to get paid for the 6 months. Send this letter visa registered mail. If he doesn't respond then file a complaint with DOL.
What are the chances for the extension? there must be some way.

You have only 2 options:
Either postpone your vacations or get new visa stamping on your passport.
If opting for new visa stamping on your passport then mentally prepared to stay for a bit longer time if in case.

Irrespective of what your notice says, it is very likely that your case has still actually not been transferred to NSC and is still in the CSC. I know because this is what has happened in my case. Just like yours, both mine and my spouse's applications were transferred to the CSC for data entry. Then we got notices saying our cases have been sent back to NSC. But apparently, only the 485 applications were supposedly sent back. The CSC issued EADs and APs for both of us.
IN the meanwhile, since the name typed on my receipt was incorrect, my attorney got the Senator's office involved. Now comes the punch line...according to the information provided by the USCIS to the Senator's office, irrespective of what the notices said, only my spouse's 485 application was actually sent to the NSC. My application is still in the CSC for some reason.
Also, according to sources that my Attorney has, it appears that right now the USCIS is in a "meltdown". They have no idea how many applications they received, where the applications are, and what stage of processing each application is. This was in response to feelers my Attorney sent regarding the FP notices (since we have not received ours yet, RD for 485 is July 23rd). Apparently, the USCIS is in a state where they are absolutely not willing to commit to any timeframes about any applications. This is supported by the vague information that they have put up on the website wherein, they are indicating that they received 2.5 million applications (for all services) in July and August as compared to 1.2 million last year and that they plan to hire an additional 1500 employees to share the workload...
So in a nutshell, I wouldn't worry about your not receiving the FP notice. I am willing to bet, that for some reason all the dependants 485 applications were sent to NSC while the prime applicants are still being held at the CSC and it appears we are in the same, leaking, sinking boat!!

Your Lawyer is correct:
As you left your employer in less than 180days from filing 485, you can not invoke AC21.
The only way for you to save this GC is to have intention (both, you and your employer) to have permanent job after GC and you and your employer should be able to confirm that in the event of an RFE.
Furthermore, if there is no RFE and your employer does note revoke I 140; and your GC get approved; you will have to start working with your employer (duration of such employment is never clarified in law; search the forum for details). If you dont do so, you may have trouble later on (CIS can revoke GC or you can be denied citizenship with revocation of GC several years later...).
Therefore, it may be a good idea to start another GC ASAP (if your current employer really does not want to hire you once GC is approved) and have another status as a backup to fall on to just in case your employer revokes I 140 (which he ideally should if he is not intending to hire you after the GC is approved).
