    Since it reacently became freeware I have to include TextWrangler (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/) from BareBones, an exellent free alternative to BBEdit, also from Bare Bones. This one doesn't suck,� either... ;)

    Also second, Adium X (http://adiumx.com/), which is so much better than Adium was... best multi protocol IM software I've found so far...

    No worries, although - you actually have to conjure up the image in your mind.



    I walked in on mine.I heard mine when I was 10. The night terrors still haunt me. The final quote: my mom saying "well, I think that's all for tonight." Really. Then the two of them went to separate bathrooms and, shortly thereafter, flushed toilets. Yeah, it was 29 years ago, and I remember it still. Of course, the nightmares help keep it in focus.

    Yes, the lights were Ikea as well. They come in sets of four. So one package will light up four cubes. Had to purchase 4 sets for this shelf.
    Also, the lights can be one of about seven colors. Or you cam make it transition. :)

    And so how is merging with T-Mobile going to open up choice, provide more competition and benefit customers? Sounds like they are just getting an early start on price gouging here.

    Not only should the merger be rejected but AT&T should be broken into about 5 separate companies.

    Sorry for the rant, but I felt like I needed to vent to fellow designers. Anyone else have any horror stories?:)

    Some people will walk all over you if you let them. Send an email "on the previous job I was paid for 3 hours but my total time spent was actually xxx hours. I can't afford jobs like that, so if you want another job done, you'll have to agree that time spent on phone calls will be billed as well. " And buy a stopwatch.

    Your job is not to produce graphics designs. Your job is to produce billable hours.


    Hi. Thanks for the reply. I do have a pretty good archiving system. I have a folder untitled "freelance" and therein is a folder named after each client and then each project. The guy kind of threw me with the sudden weekend call. You're right about the phone time too. No more mister nice guy; there's no reason to cheat myself for billable meeting time when I'm already lowballing myself.:)

    Add: "Weekend work, including phone calls is charged at double rate. Sunday work at triple rate. ".

    If some web pages would "break" if you resize a text area, why is it such a problem? If I broke a web page by resizing, I'd simply drag it back to a "good" size again, and be no worse off than before. If it redraws dynamically it'll be quite obvious as you drag.

    Having a screen come out wrong is already the case with many websites if I resize my browser window to make it very skinny, yet I don't hear people complaining that browsers allow you to do that.

    I know that there is an app/tweak that lets you set passwords and lock the apps but I have never heard of one that locks you in the app itself. Good luck!


    P.S. - There is a thing that lets you create profiles on the ipad (like you would on a computer), so you can make a profile where you only have that one app (I think)

    It's strange. His headshot makes him look like an eerie cross between the Terminator and Sylvester McCoy, the demo photo makes him look like a total DILF, and neither resemble his appearance in the more candid photos. It's like online dating.

    How we appear should never be a criterion for how we are treated under law. Justice is supposed to be blind.

    Is anyone here arguing that the way someone dresses does or should have a legal consequence in a rape situation? I haven't read every post, so perhaps someone is. Is treatment under the law the only aspect of this being discussed in this thread?

    Maybe Apple was a bank in a previous life. :D

    It's sad to see an "old timer" leave Apple, but I'm guessing that Serlet's financially set and wants to do some "pure" research at a university before he retires. Not everyone has that luxury.

    It seems that OS X will be left in good hands, though.

    I read somewhere he's perhaps not happy that iOS is gaining more influence over OS X. Certainly possible imo.
